Senior Staff Engineer

About the role

MongoDB is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to join the Atlas Core Data Services organization. The role focuses on building and scaling the MongoDB Atlas SaaS platform, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability for globally distributed clusters.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical standards and vision for the Atlas data platform, driving architecture and implementation of performance‑critical components.
• Lead design and delivery of large‑scale, cross‑organizational features from concept to production.
• Handle production escalations, mentor teammates, and improve code quality across security, durability, and availability.
• Drive AI engineering strategy to accelerate developer velocity within the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience designing, programming, debugging, and tuning distributed, high‑throughput mission‑critical software.
• Strong systems fundamentals, including multi‑threaded programming and large‑scale distributed systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
