Senior Tax Manager – Risk, Controls & Governance

About the role

This newly created Senior Tax Manager position sits at the heart of a fast‑growing Irish‑headquartered international group. You will shape and operate the Group’s tax risk and governance framework, providing visibility and assurance to senior leadership and board committees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Group’s tax risk framework and risk register, aligned with the enterprise risk model.
• Establish consistent tax risk management processes, governance and escalation procedures.
• Partner with Finance and business leaders to embed tax considerations in key decisions.
• Communicate complex tax risks in a clear, commercial manner to non‑tax stakeholders.
• Lead the evolution of tax policies and the Tax Control Framework in line with legislative changes.
• Collaborate with Direct and Indirect Tax teams to ensure consistent implementation and robust governance.
• Identify control gaps, oversee remediation plans and promote best practice documentation.
• Prepare and present tax risk and governance reports to senior leadership, the Board and Audit Committee.
• Oversee tax‑related internal audits and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional with 10+ years post‑qualified experience, preferably in a Group Tax or Tax Risk environment.
• Proven track record of leading change initiatives and enhancing tax processes and governance.
• Demonstrated ability to influence CFOs, executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with a commercial mindset.
