Setting-out Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Setting-out Engineer to join a leading main building contractor on a prestigious hospitality project in County Clare. This role offers strong career prospects, training, and exposure to a landmark large‑scale development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate setting‑out using robotic Total Station, EDM instruments and GPS.
• Manage subcontractors and supervise various trades on site.
• Maintain high health and safety standards throughout the project.
• Check plans and drawings to ensure calculations are correct.
• Ensure work and materials comply with contract specifications.
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients and professional staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience setting out on building projects in Ireland or the UK.
• Construction or Civil Engineering degree (Level 8 or equivalent).
• Strong setting‑out experience and willingness to travel.
• Valid Safe Pass.

Required skills

• Proficiency with robotic Total Station.
• Experience using EDM instruments.
• Competence with GPS for accurate set‑out.
