Shipping/Materials Handling Operator

About the role

The Shipping/Materials Handling Operator is responsible for moving material through the warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory records, and preparing shipments for customers. The role works on either the evening (4 pm–midnight) or night (midnight–8 am) shift, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Receive incoming material, unload trucks and store items in designated inventory locations.
• Record detailed information on inventory forms and enter data into the computer system.
• Check material availability, print labels, and perform order picking and shipping.
• Clean, package, and label material to ensure safe delivery.
• Verify quantities against packing slips and material certifications.
• Complete export paperwork, weigh packages, and fill out carrier documentation.
• Maintain organized and tidy raw‑material and reclaim storage areas.
• Keep accurate, legible written records for traceability.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and ensure tooling and machinery are in good condition.
• May be required to drive a company vehicle for internal transport.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate effectively with Sales and Production teams.
• Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping skills.
• Willingness to work evening or night shifts.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and package material safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory management software.
• Experience operating shipping scales and label printers.
• Knowledge of export documentation and carrier paperwork.
• Basic vehicle operation for company‑owned transport.
