Site Engineer – Civil Infrastructure Projects

About the role

A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a major public realm and civil infrastructure project in Stramullen, Co. Meath. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring quality and safety while delivering works on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support daily site operations across civil engineering works.
• Carry out setting‑out duties using GPS and levelling equipment.
• Verify site measurements, lines and levels for accuracy.
• Undertake site surveys and produce as‑built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, maintain site diaries and records.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety requirements.
• Support resolution of technical and construction‑related issues on site.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Assist with coordination of drainage, earthworks, concrete, roads, footpaths and external works.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Level 8 QQI or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering or construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site procedures and H&S regulations.
• Proven experience with GPS equipment, levelling instruments and AutoCAD.
• Experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Full clean driving licence and legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
