Site Engineer – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join a leading main contractor on a commercial development in Westport, County Mayo. The role involves overseeing daily site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring that the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑out works using engineers’ drawings, conduct site surveys and produce as‑built drawings.
• Read and interpret construction drawings to determine layouts, material quantities and installation methods.
• Manage subcontractors and the general workforce, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to programme targets.
• Liaise with client representatives and design team members to resolve technical queries.
• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards on site.
• Monitor and record material usage, maintain accurate site records and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience on construction sites, preferably in commercial projects.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Full, clean driving licence.
