Site Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

Join MMD Construction in Cork as a Site Engineer, contributing to the delivery of construction projects while ensuring compliance with design, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set out, level and survey the site using Total Station, GPS and other surveying equipment.
• Carry out as‑built surveys and maintain accurate survey records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and quantities, identifying discrepancies for resolution.
• Monitor and inspect works on site to ensure compliance with design requirements and quality control procedures.
• Prepare and maintain site records, quality documentation, inspection reports and survey data.
• Produce engineering reports, progress updates and supporting project documentation.
• Assist with planning and coordinating site activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks, datums and laser levels as required.
• Liaise with Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors and design teams to resolve technical queries and site issues.
• Support the preparation and management of RFIs, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs) and other engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Maintain detailed site diaries recording progress, resources, weather conditions and engineering‑related issues.
