Site Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join a high‑profile construction project in Westport, Co. Mayo. You will support day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and quality while gaining exposure to all stages of project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out, surveying and site measurements in line with project requirements.
• Ensure works are delivered according to drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Support the Site Manager and coordinate daily site activities.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to keep the programme on track.
• Monitor construction progress, report milestones and flag potential issues.
• Maintain accurate site records, documentation and reporting.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify quality standards.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of health and safety procedures.
• Identify and help resolve technical or operational challenges.
• Contribute to achieving project objectives, timelines and quality expectations.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years’ experience as a Site Engineer, Junior Engineer or similar role in construction.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience on construction projects in Ireland.
• Strong understanding of setting out procedures and construction methodologies.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced site environment.
