Site Reliability Engineer – Cloud Services

About the role

Apple’s Cloud Service Infrastructure team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help scale the cloud platform that powers services for billions of Apple users. Based in Dublin, you will work on cutting‑edge hardware and software infrastructure that supports Apple Silicon systems, private cloud compute, and a wide range of Apple services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation and reliability tools for large‑scale distributed systems.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement improvements to reduce future risk.
• Collaborate with hardware, networking, and software teams to enhance infrastructure capabilities and processes.
• Drive observability, alerting, and error‑budget practices across critical services.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a backend internet services developer with a strong focus on SRE engineering.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, CI/CD, testing methodologies, TDD, and agile practices.
• Experience operating large‑scale distributed systems spanning hardware, OS, and software layers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

• Foundational internet infrastructure: DNS, DHCP, virtualization, monitoring.
• SRE concepts: observability, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis.
