Site Services Engineer

About the role

AbbVie is looking for a Site Services Engineer to join its engineering team in Ballytivnan, Sligo. Reporting to the Site Services Lead, the role focuses on project execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and utility systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute engineering projects across the site.
• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for manufacturing and utility equipment.
• Lead equipment and process improvement initiatives to enhance performance and sustainability.
• Develop and monitor engineering metrics and own the Site Maintenance Excellence Program.
• Prepare capital expenditure requests and support budget management.
• Coordinate with internal teams and global engineering on plant projects and upgrades.
• Supervise external contractors, negotiate costs, and establish performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and engineering policies and represent the department in audits.
• Prepare and implement CAPA plans as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in facility, utility or plant engineering.
• Proven ability to manage maintenance schedules and lead improvement projects.
• Experience preparing capital expenditure and engineering metric reports.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and regulatory standards in a manufacturing environment.
