Software Development Engineer – Security Services

About the role

Join the Amazon Optics team to build innovative security services that protect AWS physical locations worldwide. You will work with a passionate group of engineers to design, develop, and operate critical systems that safeguard corporate and data‑center sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable services that protect AWS physical sites.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Drive operational excellence by investigating root causes and delivering permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance business value and technical objectives.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain clear documentation.
• Automate operational inefficiencies and build solutions that scale across all AWS regions.

Required profile

• EU citizenship as required by the position.
• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering complex, high‑impact services.
• Ability to solve challenging architecture problems and simplify solutions.
• Proactive attitude toward ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Experience with AWS services.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
• Solid software development skills in a modern programming language.
• Understanding of security principles for physical site protection.
