Software Engineer II - Compiler/LLVM

About the role

Cadence’s Tensilica division is seeking a Software Engineer II to work on LLVM‑based compilers for Xtensa processors. You will help deliver high‑quality code generation and architecture‑aware optimisations for AI, vision, audio and communications workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance compiler components for Tensilica/Xtensa architectures.
• Implement code generation, instruction selection and core optimisations.
• Collaborate with hardware and architecture teams to enable new processor features.
• Analyse performance and debug compiler or system‑level issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 2+ years of academic or industry experience in systems software, compilers or low‑level development.
• Strong programming skills in C and/or C++.
• Foundational understanding of compiler concepts and computer architecture.
