Software Engineer – Query Engine Testing Tools

About the role

MongoDB is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Query Testing Tools team. You will help build and maintain state‑of‑the‑art testing frameworks and performance tools that ensure the reliability and speed of our distributed query engine.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and performance test suites for the MongoDB query engine.
• Create internal tooling for high‑volume workload generation and query validation.
• Collaborate with engineers to make new features testable and ensure comprehensive coverage of both happy‑path and edge‑case scenarios.
• Participate in code reviews, focusing on robustness, reliability, and testability of changes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software development or performance engineering experience.
• Fluency in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong problem‑solving skills in distributed environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, automation test frameworks, and query engine testing is a strong plus.
