Software Engineer – System Software Development

About the role
Join NetApp’s R&D team to design and develop new features for the company’s flagship storage operating system. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from definition through implementation, testing and early customer support.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and sustain system‑software features for the storage OS.
- Handle engineering escalations and contribute to new product development.
- Participate in all phases of the product development cycle: design, coding, debugging, testing and support.
- Collaborate with QA, test engineering and other engineering teams to understand customer use cases and deliver integrated solutions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, embedded systems or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in system‑software development.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Required skills
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Unix/Linux system programming experience.
- Deep understanding of operating‑system internals.
- Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures and multi‑threaded programming.
