Software Integration Developer

About the role

SimoTech is seeking a Software Integration Developer to join a hybrid team supporting a major pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Cork. You will design, develop, test, and deploy proprietary software that connects laboratory instruments to internal systems within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Consult stakeholders, review and update user requirements and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with senior developers and architects to translate requirements into software architecture.
• Map lab device ecosystems and associated communication protocols.
• Build communication modules that integrate lab equipment with an IoT platform for device control and data acquisition.
• Develop a standard interface between the LES system and various lab equipment.
• Perform extensive testing using manual methods and automated unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while conducting code reviews.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing applications with Python and modern web technologies.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, regulated environment and communicate effectively with digital, laboratory, and IT stakeholders.
