Spray Painter / Panel Beater Technician

About the role

JJ Kavanagh, a family-run business with over 100 years of heritage and a certified Great Place to Work organisation, is expanding its maintenance team at its Urlingford depot in County Kilkenny. It is looking for an experienced Spray Painter / Panel Beater Technician for a permanent, full-time, hands-on role in a modern PSV fleet workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out professional spray painting and panel beating on all vehicle types
• Complete de-tar'ing and body repairs as required
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on PSVs
• Prepare and present vehicles for MOT/CVRT
• Diagnose and resolve bodywork and cosmetic defects
• Complete job cards, inspections and defect rectification paperwork accurately
• Liaise with the parts department to source components
• Support colleagues across the engineering and driving teams
• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment
• Attend to unscheduled maintenance issues on and off site

Required profile

• Formal, industry-recognised qualifications in panel beating / spray painting
• Proven technical competence in body repair and paintwork
• Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Flexibility to support weekend work when required
• Full driving licence (essential); commercial licence is an advantage, training can be provided
