Staff Label Designer – Medical Devices

About the role

The Staff Label Designer will develop and maintain labels for complex medical devices used by hospital and healthcare staff worldwide. This fixed‑term position supports multiple business units, ensuring label compliance with global regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive global best practices for label design across the division.
• Collaborate with product SMEs (Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Safety Engineering, Packaging, Clinical Sciences, Marketing, Trade Compliance) to define label requirements.
• Use specialized labeling software to create templates, enter text and graphics, and manage label data in a print‑on‑demand system.
• Design label formats that are functional and usable for healthcare staff in diverse markets.
• Support multiple concurrent labeling projects, including new products, mergers & acquisitions, and label maintenance.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, verify barcodes, and manage label releases in PLM/CMS.
• Participate in label planning meetings, select appropriate label materials, and lead innovation initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of global labeling standards and medical device regulations.
• Ability to coach and mentor team members on label design best practices.
• Experience managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects with tight milestones.
• Excellent analytical skills for problem solving and process improvement.
