Staff Nurse – Adult Inpatient Services

About the role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Adult Inpatient Services team at Leverndale Hospital. This part‑time, permanent position offers the chance to work with adults experiencing complex mental health needs, delivering therapeutic activity that supports recovery, wellbeing and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload of individuals across inpatient and community settings.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions that promote recovery and independence.
• Design, coordinate and facilitate a range of therapeutic and recreational activities tailored to individual and group needs.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to develop effective care plans.
• Provide leadership, supervision and support to junior staff, students and colleagues.
• Promote health improvement, social inclusion and positive lifestyle choices through activity programmes.
• Contribute to service development, audit, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current, live NMC UK PIN.
• Significant experience within mental health services.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
• Extensive knowledge of therapeutic interventions and recovery‑focused approaches.
