Staff Nurse

About the role

As a Staff Nurse at Silver Stream Healthcare Group’s Sugarloaf Care Centre in Kilmacanogue, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in a residential elderly care setting. You will supervise care delivery, ensure resident wellbeing, and contribute to a supportive healing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage resident admissions, discharges and medication administration in line with best practice.
• Develop and maintain person‑centred care plans and accurate care notes.
• Supervise mealtimes, feeding, personal care and hygiene for residents.
• Lead a team of Health Care Assistants, allocate duties and monitor performance.
• Respond to emergencies, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and HIQA standards.
• Maintain clear, concise records in accordance with legislation.
• Build strong relationships with residents to understand and meet their needs.

Required profile

• Registered on the Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBI) with an active PIN.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; at least 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with HIQA standards and the Health Act Regulations 2013.
• Strong clinical and communication abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in emergencies.
