Staff Nurse – Relief Contracts (Dublin)

About the role

Avista is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join its Dublin services on a relief contract basis. The role supports children and adults with intellectual disabilities, delivering person‑centred care in day, residential and respite settings across Dublin.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, adhering to best practice and regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement person‑centred care plans, promoting community integration and skill development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for service users.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication administration records.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and research activities.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Proficiency in English.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to Avista’s values of inclusion, respect and quality care.

Required skills

• Up‑to‑date NMBI registration.
• Knowledge of person‑centred planning and HIQA standards.
• Desirable: Full clean manual Irish diving licence and RNID registration.
