Supplies Officer – Logistics (Grade C)

About the role

The Supplies Officer Logistics (Grade C) provides essential logistics support for the New Children’s Hospital and associated urgent day‑care units. Working closely with hospital wards, the officer ensures timely delivery, handling, and storage of medical and non‑medical supplies across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Receive deliveries, verify orders, and record receipts in SAP using GRN procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles with Fork Lift, Power Lifts, and manual lifting equipment, directing trucks to appropriate unloading bays.
• Manage internal movement of stock via Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and place items in designated storage locations, including Kanban systems.
• Operate stock scanning solutions and handheld devices for inventory tracking.
• Coordinate with buyers, planners, and ward staff to communicate stock levels, returns, and replenishment needs.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate/QQI Level 6 or equivalent, or commitment to obtain equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management, preferably in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor when interacting with clinical and administrative staff.

Required skills

• SAP transactional knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with handheld technology devices.
• Operation of Fork Lift, Power Lift, and manual lifting equipment.
