Systems Engineer, Managed Operations

About the role

Join AWS Managed Operations to build, operate, and evolve the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) for EU customers. You will oversee high‑availability services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Bedrock, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC).
• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence the evolution of services.
• Review operational health, write actionable bug reports, execute change management, resolve backlog, and develop automation scripts.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to resolve incidents out‑of‑hours.

Required profile

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Must be a national of an EU member state and reside in the EU.
• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting or networking administration.
• Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.

Required skills

• Linux operating system.
• Network troubleshooting.
• Scripting (Python, Perl, etc.).
• Monitoring frameworks (CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic or similar).
• Infrastructure as Code tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible or similar).
• CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Generative AI technologies.
