About the role
The South Munster Citizens Information Service is seeking a temporary part‑time Information Officer to work at its Cornmarket Street office in Cork City. The role runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027 (subject to a six‑month probation) and involves 17.5 hours per week of direct public service.
Key responsibilities
- Provide accurate information, advice, advocacy and referral services to the public.
- Liaise with statutory and voluntary service providers to coordinate support.
- Conduct research to answer enquiries and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant policies.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and referrals.
Required profile
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent; higher‑level qualification in social policy, human rights, social work, legal studies or a related field is desirable.
- Strong communication abilities and experience in a busy advice or advocacy environment.
- Demonstrated research capability and good IT proficiency.

- Pro‑rated salary on the €34,672‑€52,900 scale (including two LSIs and long‑serving increments).
