Timber Frame Designer

About the role

The Timber Frame Designer will join the Design team at Glennon Brothers, supporting the creation and coordination of design drawings and technical information for timber frame projects. Reporting to the Design Manager, the role ensures that designs meet client expectations, manufacturing standards, and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop timber frame design drawings and associated technical documentation in line with project specifications.
• Manage design programmes to align deliverables with contractual commitments and project schedules.
• Collaborate with the estimating team, providing technical input for cost assessments.
• Support the transition of designs from the drafting stage through to production.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure efficient project delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years experience in timber frame, light‑gauge steel or modular construction design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable design software.
• Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with digital project delivery processes is desirable.
• Experience producing drawings for both new and existing projects.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
