Trainee Manager

About the role

As a Trainee Manager you will support the store management team in all aspects of daily operations while rotating through each department to gain hands‑on experience. This role is designed for an ambitious individual who wants to develop a career in grocery retail management.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values (Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, Community‑Based) in every interaction.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales, gross profit, net margin, waste and other KPI targets alongside the Store Manager.
• Participate actively in training, development initiatives and performance assessments.
• Merchandise and present the store to the highest standard, following planograms and visual guidelines.
• Implement planograms, ensure correct product range, and manage stock rotation and control procedures.
• Gain competence in ordering, deliveries, and overall supply chain processes.
• Manage assigned departments and support new initiatives.

Required profile

• 1 + year experience in retail (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong communication and delegation abilities.
• Highly driven with a solid work ethic and commercial awareness.
• Passion for grocery retail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word.
