Trainee Manager – Retail (Full‑time)

About the role

This position offers a hands‑on opportunity to support the store management team while rotating through all key departments of a busy grocery outlet. You will gain practical experience in sales, merchandising, stock control and customer service, preparing you for future leadership roles in retail.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values and promote a proud, energetic, imaginative, community‑focused environment.
• Assist in setting, monitoring and achieving sales, gross profit, net margin, waste and other KPI targets.
• Participate in training programmes, performance assessments and development initiatives.
• Maintain store presentation to planogram standards and ensure the correct product range is displayed.
• Execute supply procedures including ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and control.
• Manage assigned departments and support new initiatives and ways of working.

Required profile

• At least 1 year experience in the retail sector (preferred but not mandatory).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience handling cash tills and working with fresh‑food sections is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, delegation and teamwork abilities.
• Highly driven, commercial awareness, passion for grocery retail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
