Trainee Manager – Retail Store

About the role

This full‑time Trainee Manager position supports the store management team while gaining hands‑on experience across all store departments. You will develop a deep understanding of grocery retail operations, from merchandising to cash handling, in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values of being Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community‑Based.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales targets, gross profit margin, net margin, waste and other KPIs alongside the Store Manager.
• Participate actively in training, development initiatives and performance assessments.
• Merchandise and present the store to the highest standard, following planograms and visual guidelines.
• Implement ordering, delivery, stock rotation and control procedures.
• Manage assigned departments and engage with new initiatives.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in the retail industry (desirable).
• Strong communication and delegation abilities.
• Highly driven with a strong work ethic and commercial awareness.
• Passion for grocery retail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
