Trainee Store Manager – Retail (Full‑time)

About the role

This position offers a hands‑on opportunity to support the store management team while gaining comprehensive experience across all store departments. As a Trainee Manager you will develop the skills needed to lead a grocery retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values of being Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community‑Based.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales, gross profit, net margin, waste and other KPI targets alongside the Store Manager.
• Participate actively in training, development initiatives and performance assessments.
• Merchandise and present the store to the highest standard, following planograms and visual guidelines.
• Implement ordering, delivery, stock rotation and control procedures.
• Manage assigned departments and support day‑to‑day operations.
• Engage with new initiatives and adopt innovative ways of working.

Required profile

• At least 1 year experience in the retail industry (desirable).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience handling cash/tills and fresh food (desirable).
• Excellent communication and delegation abilities.
• Highly driven, strong work ethic, commercial awareness and passion for grocery retail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
