Transport Planner

About the role

As a Transport Planner you will coordinate deliveries for hundreds of customers across the region, managing a sizeable fleet of drivers and ensuring the depot operates smoothly. You will work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to optimise routes, maintain compliance and support daily transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assign work to drivers and mates, ensuring efficient use of vehicles and manpower.
• Plan daily transport using Paragon, optimising routes and minimising costs while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Monitor driver performance, enforce Standard Operating Procedures and manage induction, training and retraining.
• Maintain compliance with vehicle and driver legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Produce transport statistics and maintain accurate records for internal and external use.
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as processing orders, producing pick lists, dispatch notes and load sheets.

Required profile

• Highly organised, self‑motivated and adaptable with a proactive attitude.
• Previous experience in distribution or a transport office, familiar with stock control and warehouse systems.
• Knowledge of EU Drivers’ Hours regulations and related compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and people skills to coordinate with drivers and internal teams.
