Value for Money & Efficiency Officer

About the role

Nua Healthcare Services, a leading Irish private provider of residential and supported living services for children and adults with complex needs, is looking for a Value for Money & Efficiency Officer. The role combines financial analysis, supplier and contract review, value-for-money auditing, cost reduction and operational efficiency, examining expenditure across the organisation and challenging costs where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Review supplier costs, contracts and purchasing arrangements, benchmark against market rates and support contract renegotiations and competitive procurement
• Identify financial and operational waste, develop waste-reduction programmes and track savings achieved
• Analyse expenditure, investigate unusual patterns and variances, and prepare business cases for cost-saving proposals
• Carry out independent value-for-money audits covering supplier spend, staffing overheads, facilities, IT, fleet, professional fees, utilities, travel and equipment
• Produce regular value-for-money reports for senior management, dashboards and a register of initiatives

Required profile

• A third-level qualification in finance, accounting, business, economics, procurement, business analytics, commercial or operations management
• Substantial experience in supplier costs and contracts, waste reduction, expenditure analysis, internal audit or value-for-money reviews, and business process improvement

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a team, meet tight deadlines and plan effectively
