Warehouse Supervisor

About the role
We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to support the Warehouse Operations Manager in planning, leading and developing a team of operatives. The role ensures daily workload is met while complying with health, safety, food quality and EU hygiene standards.
Key responsibilities
- Plan daily resources and adjust throughout the shift to meet department objectives.
- Liaise with the Warehouse Shift Manager and on‑site trainer to ensure skill‑training requirements are fulfilled.
- Meet picking and loading deadlines while managing handling rates.
- Ensure the shift follows QIP guidelines and complete all required paperwork.
- Raise product issues with the Quality Manager and guarantee cages meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, tidy work area and uphold high health‑and‑safety standards.
- Achieve targets and job standards set by management, adapting flexibly as needed.
- Motivate the team to meet daily KPI output objectives.
- Utilise the WMOS system to plan and manage daily requirements.
- Complete admin tasks such as floor walks, shift reports, quality audits and training of stand‑up supervisors.
- People management duties including recruitment, return‑to‑work coordination, 1‑to‑1 appraisals and performance conversations.
- Maintain product temperatures on loaded trailers to food‑safety standards.
- Perform fire‑warden and first‑aid duties when required.
Required profile
- Innovative, forward‑thinking and able to generate improvement ideas.
- Team player and team builder with strong attention to detail.
- Good judgement and ability to make quick decisions.
- Associate’s degree with 3‑4+ years of relevant experience and 0‑1+ years supervisory experience.
- Previous management experience in a similar FMCG warehouse environment.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience in performance management, conducting interviews and working within a union environment (desirable).
- Knowledge of employment law, HR processes and formal management skills (desirable).
- Strategic thinking, people development and financial awareness.
