Yard Assistant

About the role

The Yard Assistant supports the smooth operation of the hotel’s delivery and storage areas. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will ensure the yard, bin zones and store rooms remain organized, clean and ready for daily hotel activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery yard, bin area, and all hotel store rooms.
• Empty bottle skips daily and keep sufficient skips available for the operations team.
• Follow waste segregation procedures for general waste, recycling and compostable materials.
• Bale all hotel cardboard for recycling.
• Receive deliveries, verify them against delivery dockets, and store items using FIFO stock rotation.
• Distribute stock throughout the hotel as required.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a positive, self‑motivated attitude.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering excellent service.
• Flexibility with personal transport.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, time‑management and organisational abilities.
