Assistant Accommodation Manager

About the role

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate is seeking an Assistant Accommodation Manager to support the smooth operation of its 73 guest bedrooms, luxury lodges and public areas. Working full‑time on‑site, you will join an award‑winning hospitality team and help maintain the high standards expected by guests and VIPs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and deliver shift handovers, noting events, special requests and any outstanding issues.
• Conduct room checks to ensure housekeeping standards are consistently met.
• Monitor hotel laundry output and coordinate with housekeeping to match demand.
• Assist with staffing levels across all accommodation areas.
• Manage VIP guest rooms, confirming all requested amenities are provided.
• Complete checklists, reports and end‑of‑shift handovers accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in housekeeping storerooms and public areas.
• Oversee lost‑property logging and respond to guest enquiries.
• Control master‑key security and maintain an up‑to‑date maintenance log, prioritising tasks for the maintenance team.
• Support routine cleaning plans for furniture, fittings, carpets and linen supplies.
• Communicate effectively with Front Office to optimise bedroom allocation and service.

Required profile

• Ability to work shift patterns and hand over information clearly.
• Attention to detail in room inspections and public‑area upkeep.
• Experience handling VIP guests and responding to special requests.
• Strong organisational skills for managing checklists, reports and lost‑property records.
• Understanding of security protocols for master‑key control.
