Assistant Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our fast‑paced Finance team. You will work within the General Ledger (GL) team, supporting the preparation of management accounts and month‑end reporting while gaining exposure to a broad range of finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, accruals, pre‑payments and overhead analysis.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, post monthly depreciation journals and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support month‑end closing processes, produce business‑unit P&L statements and analyse budget versus actual performance.
• Contribute to year‑end audit and statutory accounts by providing required documentation.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives for finance reporting systems.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or Accounting Technician qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing a significant workload in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• SAP Accounting Software (desirable).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
