Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the full spectrum of financial operations, from revenue recording to month‑end reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Record revenue and key statistical data from the Property Management System.
• Process and verify purchase invoices, maintaining creditor ledgers.
• Liaise with hotel management to monitor debtor ledgers.
• Manage cash, perform regular reconciliations and end‑to‑end income audits (cash, credit‑card, bank).
• Control creditor processes, including Procure Wizard orders and invoice handling.
• Handle accounts payable tasks: coding, reconciliations, and supplier queries.
• Process payroll and assist with group reporting.
• Analyse bank accounts and reconcile monthly.
• Maintain the general ledger, support month‑end close, and prepare trial balances for management accounts.
• Produce timely monthly accounts and calculate key performance indicators.
• Assist the Financial Controller in budget preparation.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the Head Office Finance Department as required.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of finance experience within the hospitality sector.
• Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month‑end close and budgeting.
• High level of integrity and transparency.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Sage Line 50 (preferred).
• Familiarity with Procure Wizard or similar procurement systems.
