Assistant Professor in Computing

About the role

The School of Computing at Dublin City University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Computing. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of academics, contributing to teaching, research, and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching at B.Sc. level and above, including lectures, labs, and assessments.
• Develop and update curricula to reflect emerging trends in software engineering and data analytics/AI.
• Conduct and publish research in reputable peer‑reviewed venues, securing external funding where possible.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
• Engage with industry partners to foster collaborations and applied projects.
• Participate in departmental administration and service activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated research excellence in software engineering and/or data analytics/AI, with publications in high‑impact journals or conferences.
• Experience supervising research students and attracting research funding.
• Strong teaching record at the university level.
• Alignment of research interests with existing expertise in the School of Computing.
