Assistant Store Manager (Retail)

About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager you will work closely with the Store Manager to lead a high‑performing retail team at Holland & Barrett’s Liffey Valley store. You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving sales and operational excellence in a fast‑paced health‑and‑wellness environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to motivate and develop the team.
• Coach staff to provide world‑class service and build lasting customer relationships.
• Maintain a customer‑first approach, ensuring smooth store operations.
• Manage commercial performance through sales targets, cost control and operational standards.
• Oversee stock accuracy, visual merchandising and promotional execution.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and wellbeing policies.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
• Complete product training and stay updated on health‑and‑wellness trends.

Required profile

• Confident, adaptable leader thriving in a busy retail setting.
• Clear communicator able to coach, motivate and build trust.
• Commercially aware with a focus on achieving targets.
• Passionate about health, wellness and continuous learning.
• Retail or customer‑service experience with ambition to progress into leadership.
• Comfortable using technology to enhance the customer experience.
