Audit Director – Leadership Opportunity

About the role

We are partnering with a leading Top 10 audit firm to appoint an Audit Director who will shape the audit function, lead complex engagements and drive strategic growth. This senior leadership position reports to partners and works closely with key clients across a diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex audit engagements, ensuring high‑quality delivery and exceptional client service.
• Collaborate with partners on strategic initiatives and operational priorities.
• Oversee planning, execution and completion of audits for a varied client base.
• Act as senior point of contact for key clients, building trusted long‑term relationships.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals and identifying growth opportunities.
• Review technical work to ensure compliance with auditing standards, FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Manage team resourcing, mentor staff and drive performance development.
• Promote continuous improvement, quality and a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified.
• Currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level within audit.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Proven experience managing complex audits across varied sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and team development capability.
• Commercial awareness with ability to identify growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
