Business Development Manager – Software & Digital Transformation

About the role

This senior, hands‑on position is focused on driving new business for a technology consultancy that delivers software development, automation and SaaS solutions to Irish SMEs. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, and help shape the commercial function of a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a self‑generated pipeline through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, events and direct outreach.
• Engage SME owners, directors and senior decision‑makers to uncover commercial challenges and propose tailored digital transformation solutions.
• Lead consultative discovery conversations, develop proposals, negotiate terms and close deals with sales cycles typically ranging from 2 to 6 months.
• Deliver product demos for the company’s SaaS offering and convert opportunities into recurring revenue.
• Maintain CRM discipline, pipeline reporting and sales process documentation.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to refine go‑to‑market messaging, collateral and commercial strategy.

Required profile

• 5+ years of B2B business development, sales or commercial experience.
• Proven track record of winning self‑generated business in software, SaaS, IT services or digital transformation.
• Experience selling consultatively to SMEs, owner‑managed businesses or senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen, confidence in solution‑led conversations and ability to work autonomously.
• Existing network and deep knowledge of the Irish market is a significant advantage.
