Catering Assistant – HSE Dublin & North East

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Catering Assistant to join its Dublin and North East region, covering North Dublin, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan. This full‑time position supports the delivery of safe, nutritious meals to patients and staff across HSE facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with HSE food‑service standards.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Monitor stock levels, receive deliveries and ensure proper storage.
• Follow food‑safety regulations and health‑care specific guidelines.
• Assist senior kitchen staff with daily operational tasks.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a catering or food‑service environment.
• Ability to work in a healthcare setting and follow strict safety protocols.
• Flexibility to adapt to shift patterns and occasional overtime.
• Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
• Understanding of food‑safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to manage inventory and perform stock checks.
• Competence in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.
