Colleague Manager – Cork Area

About the role

As a Colleague Manager for the Cork area, you will lead a team of store staff, taking full responsibility for their experience, development and performance. You will work closely with store leadership to deliver business objectives while championing M&S values and a customer‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end experience of direct reports, mentoring, coaching and managing performance.
• Collaborate with the store leadership team to achieve shared sales and service targets.
• Ensure safe and legal store operations, supporting Shift Leads and Sales Advisors without performing operational tasks yourself.
• Implement launches, events and campaigns accurately and on time.
• Drive high performance through coaching, talent spotting and succession planning.
• Handle the full colleague lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, holiday management, duty of care and return‑to‑work processes.
• Monitor attendance, conduct absence reviews and ensure completion of compliance learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading retail teams and delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong ability to inspire, develop and hold people accountable.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, transformation‑focused environment.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital tools such as Time & Attendance (T&A) systems, MyHR, Microsoft Teams and PowerBI.
