Commercial Sales Director – Ireland

Excel Recruitment is partnering with a leading international organisation to appoint a Commercial Sales Director for the Irish market. This senior leadership position will shape and execute the commercial growth strategy, driving revenue and profitability across a technology‑enabled solutions business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the commercial growth strategy for Ireland.
• Drive sales performance, revenue growth and profitability.
• Lead all commercial activities including sales, pricing, forecasting and customer strategy.
• Build and strengthen long‑term relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
• Collaborate with operational, finance, marketing and international teams to ensure strong execution.
• Analyse market trends, customer insights and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Champion innovation, continuous improvement and technology‑driven commercial solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role.
• Strong background in FMCG, pharmacy retail, retail services, technology or complex B2B environments.
• Demonstrated success delivering sustainable revenue growth and commercial performance.
• Strategic thinking and commercial planning capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including forecasting and margin management.
• Experience in multinational or matrix‑led organisations (advantageous).
• Customer‑focused, commercially driven and results‑oriented.
