About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join the Anaesthesia Department at Beaumont Hospital. This full‑time, specified‑purpose position (Grade 1015) supports the delivery of high‑quality peri‑operative care across the Dublin and North East region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert anaesthetic care for surgical, obstetric and emergency cases.
• Lead and supervise junior anaesthetists, trainees and nursing staff.
• Participate in departmental governance, audit, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to teaching, research and continuous professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE clinical standards and patient safety protocols.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration on the Irish Medical Council.
• Specialist training and certification in Anaesthesiology.
• Eligibility for Consultant grade (1015) within the HSE.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care in a multidisciplinary team.
