Cost Accountant

About the role

The company, a global manufacturing and engineering business, is establishing a dedicated cost accounting function at its Shannon site. Reporting to the Site Controller, the Cost Accountant will support operations and supply‑chain teams with cost control, inventory valuation and margin analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs, perform variance analysis and produce margin reports.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and analysis of manufacturing costs.
• Identify cost trends, efficiency opportunities and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Provide financial support for capital expenditure and strategic projects.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Support ERP enhancements and continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail and high integrity.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
