Finance Director - Strategic Leadership

About the role

This senior finance position will lead the Irish finance function of a global pharmaceutical company. You will partner directly with the CEO, CFO, ownership and international leadership to shape commercial performance and strategic decision‑making. The role combines strategic FP&A, controllership and board reporting in a fast‑growing, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial insight, scenario planning and decision support to the General Manager and senior leadership.
• Own the annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning processes.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual board packs with clear commentary and recommendations.
• Lead month‑end close, balance‑sheet ownership and working‑capital management.
• Manage year‑end statutory reporting, audit coordination and compliance with local tax and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee cash‑flow, banking relationships and treasury activities.
• Develop, mentor and retain a high‑performing finance team.
• Drive finance‑process automation, stronger controls and scalable operating models.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant from a large practice.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience in industry and/or practice.
• Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision‑support background.
• Proven leadership managing finance teams and senior stakeholders.
• Technical accounting, audit and statutory reporting expertise.
• Experience in pharma, life‑sciences or other regulated sectors is a plus.
