Financial Accountant – Full‑time Finance Role

About the role
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Westport. The role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decisions across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
- Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations and internal controls.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, including pension reporting.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
- Support Accounts Payable as needed.
- Perform cash sheet reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare corporation tax computations.
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.
- Prepare, analyse and present financial reports for management.
- Assist the Financial Controller with projects and ad‑hoc tasks.
- Continuously improve financial processes and reporting systems.
Required profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and strong communication abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Payroll processing experience.
