General Operative (Production)

About the role

We are looking for a General Operative to join our production team in Ireland. The role supports daily output targets, ensures product quality and food safety, and works closely with the shift supervisor and line staff.

Key responsibilities

• Meet daily production targets for output, waste, yield, efficiency and start‑up time as part of a team.
• Accurately record production data (downtime, waste, process sheets, non‑conformances) on the required sheets.
• Perform all quality tests according to protocols and maintain traceability records.
• Control and maintain production tools, probes and machine parts, replacing or reporting missing items.
• Follow food safety procedures and keep the work area tidy, safe and hygienic.
• Operate equipment in line with training and approved SOPs, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
• Suggest improvements and new initiatives for evolving processes.
• Ensure products are produced and packed to company and customer specifications, adhering to a “right first time” approach.
• Report any maintenance issues to the line manager.
• Communicate with colleagues to guarantee uninterrupted material supply to the line.
• Remain flexible to meet order demands, especially during breakdowns.

Required profile

• Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Minimum six months experience in an FMCG environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Flexible and proactive mindset, able to anticipate needs.
• Proficient written and verbal English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP).
• Understanding of health and safety compliance procedures.
