Groundworker – Site Preparation & Excavation

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Groundworker to join our experienced crew in Ireland. You will work on a variety of residential, commercial and agricultural projects, assisting with site preparation, excavation and the delivery of high‑quality external works.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with excavation, site clearance and setting out foundations and drainage.
• Lay and compact sub‑bases, and support concreting, kerbing and paving activities.
• Operate or assist with plant and machinery under supervision, ensuring safe handling of materials.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and the site team to meet project timelines and specifications.

Required profile

• Relevant groundworks experience, including excavation, foundations, drainage, kerbing or paving.
• CSCS or equivalent construction safety certification (valid CSCS Card where applicable).
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices and willingness to follow site procedures.
• Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Required skills

• CSCS Card (or equivalent construction safety certification).
• Full clean driving licence.
• Experience operating small plant or tools.
• Excavation and site clearance techniques.
• Concreting, kerbing and paving skills.
• Hard landscaping knowledge.
