Head of Internal Audit (PCF-13)

About the role

The client, a regulated financial services firm in Dublin, is looking for a PCF‑13 Head of Internal Audit. This senior leadership position provides direct exposure to the Board and the Audit & Risk Committee, allowing you to shape audit strategy in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the independent Internal Audit function in line with Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) requirements.
• Develop and execute a risk‑based audit plan across the organisation.
• Provide independent assurance on governance, risk and controls.
• Deliver audit reports and annual opinions to the Audit & Risk Committee.
• Manage relationships with regulators and external assurance providers.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Internal Audit team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of internal audit experience within regulated financial services.
• Strong knowledge of CBI regulations and Fitness & Probity requirements.
• Experience in banking, lending, servicing or broader financial services.
• Previous leadership experience in Internal Audit, Risk or Compliance.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIA (preferred).
• Excellent stakeholder management and Board‑level communication skills.
