IT Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an IT Administrator to provide day‑to‑day operational support for all IT systems across shore offices, terminals and onboard vessels. The role is permanent, onsite in the Cork Harbour area and may require responsive support outside normal office hours.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain servers, PCs, laptops and other endpoint devices.
• Configure and monitor cloud resources.
• Provide technical support to staff and crew, troubleshooting hardware and software issues and act as escalation point for Level 1 Service Desk.
• Maintain network connectivity (LAN/Wi‑Fi, VPN, satellite) in collaboration with the network team.
• Administer user accounts, permissions and email systems (Microsoft 365, Active Directory).
• Perform software updates, patch management and backups.
• Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure high availability and security.
• Assist with IT inventory management and procurement.
• Support IT projects and deployments onboard vessels and at shore offices.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years experience in IT support or administration, preferably in maritime, transport or multi‑site environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop OS, Microsoft 365, networking and basic server administration.
• Experience with help‑desk ticketing systems and IT documentation.
